Representation Projects Challenges Gender Stereotypes, Asks Viewers to ‘Rewrite The Story’ – bustle
I literally cannot get enough of The Representation Project and their work combating gender stereotypes. Their goal and mission statement is to use “film and media content to expose injustices created by gender stereotypes and to shift people’s consciousness towards change”, and I think they’re doing a damn fine job.
Five Reasons You Should Be Watching Comedy Central’s “Broad City” – BitchMedia
I (and my boyfriend) can give you about 173 more reasons to watch it, but Andi Zeisler’s list is a great start. If you like dogs that look eerily like celebrities and inhaling laughing gas and drop-kicking cardboard cutouts, TUNE IN.
Will Ferrell Is Helping Funny Women Everywhere – Levo League
I know what you’re thinking because it is definitely what I first thought when I heard about Will Ferrell’s latest venture. Yes, that Ferrell – best known for raunchy, sexist comedies like “Anchorman” and “Old School” – has launched a female-focused production company with business partners Chris Henchy and Adam McCay and longtime collaborator producer-friend Jessica Elbaum (associate producer of “Step Brothers” and executive producer of “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues”). Well, folks, YOU can win a tour of Steubenville High School AND spend the day withWall Street Journal writer James Taranto AND receive an athletic scholarship to BASICALLY ANY RAPE-RIDDEN AMERICAN COLLEGE CAMPUS if you can find just ONE WAY (to be clear, any way will do) that rape is the victim’s fault. Come on, it’s so easy! STUMPED? Think about some of these things: what is she wearing, eating, smelling like, looking like, pointing at, drinking, not drinking, standing near, sitting on, thinking about. DING DING DING, you won! She asked for it because she has curly hair and was drinking a chocolate milk while wearing a skirt. What a stupid slut! Come on down and claim your prizes!

Sheryl Sandberg’s Latest Project: Make Picture Less Sexist – Slate
Now you can lean in (in your computer chair) and upload less sexist Getty images to your PowerPoint presentation. I kid, I kid. The Lean In movement is pretty annoying (especially with its recent anti-feminist snafu), BUT this is pretty effing cool. Say bye bye bye to stock photos of white women juggling briefcases and babies and soccer balls and bonjour to hipster black dudes holding babies and Asian women running meetings.
